Enjoy a Bike Ride or Peaceful Nature Hike

The Rainy Lake Recreation Trail follows the south shore of Rainy River and then Rainy Lake east from International Falls to the Rainy Lake visitor Center for Voyageurs National Park. The paved trail takes you through lakeside residential areas and forested highlands a distance of about 12 miles. This trail is open to hiking and biking.

Biking with a View

International Falls has hosted the start of the Multiple Sclerosis Society “Ride Across Minnesota” (MS:TRAM) a fundraising ride attracting nearly a thousand bike riders. Our area was chosen because of the great paved secondary roads that offer low traffic for biking and high scenic value. Minnesota’s Jim Klobuchar has also made International Falls a stop while leading his popular summer bike tours.

Hiking in Voyageurs National Park and Nearby Trails

Hikers will find plenty of opportunities in our area. There are hiking trails in Voyageurs National Park that can take in historic sites and points of interest. Several area cross country ski trails also offer a bit of highland hiking. Wildlife watchers will find a very extensive network of forestry and minimum maintenance roads to access likely spots for a peaceful nature hike and wildlife watching. There are also designated hunter walking trails closed to vehicular traffic to hike.
