Start Exploring the Rainy Lake Area

Headquarters to Voyageurs National Park

There is so much more than World Class Fishing here in Minnesota’s Vacation Paradise.

It’s spring in Minnesota’s Vacation Paradise. This is a time birders particularly enjoy as migrating birds fly through the varied habitat of our mixture of boreal forest, Canadian Shield and lowlands. There are many wildlife watching opportunities as the forests green-up and truly come to life. It’s also a great time to take in our area waterfalls as the snowmelt thunders downstream on the way to Hudson’s Bay. There are special spring fishing opportunities as we head into the glorious summer season.

Summer boat tours in the National Park take advantage of the spectacular scenery and fun points of interest such as the Rainy Lake Gold Mine and Kettle Falls’ historic hotel. Hiking trails allow an opportunity to explore scenic vistas and excellent wildlife watching areas. There are bike trails, golf courses, beaches, museums and more. You will discover many ideas for a great vacation or an exciting weekend getaway.

We are the gateway to Voyageurs National Park, Minnesota’s only water-based national park.
